I realised that Apricot was missing from my last post. Apricot is often off doing her own thing and so sometimes gets missed from photos. She is the friendliest little girl though and is easy to get close up photos of. If I bob down she comes running. If I hold out my hand she will come and see if I have anything for her. If I hold out my camera she will often come in too close like this.
Apricot is bottom girl but she is the friendliest of the girls and is such a cutie.
Lovely little girl.
She is.
I wonder if friendliness and low/bottom of pecking order come hand in hand?
I don’t think so actually because in our past flock Toffee was bottom girl and she was the most shy around me too. It used to make me feel bad that she would rather pass another girl that was going to peck her than pass me who had only ever been kind to her (my eldest son said that the logic was that I was bigger). She eventually rose up the ranks a bit and was no longer wary of me but never friendly as such. Apricot was friendly with me from the first day, it just seems to be her nature. It is odd how different they can be and what makes one more friendly than the rest but I am just happy that she is such a sweet and friendly girl
Does Apricot like to be handled Carol – none of mine do?! xx
Apricot is the only one that doesn’t mind being handled. I can touch and stroke her whereas the others move away and I can pick her up easily. xx
Thanks. It’s interesting.
I think it shows how individual their characters are.
