Milder weather is improving things

The milder weather seems to be helping the girls. Since the weather has turned milder there have been no eye bubbles. The sneezing has been a lot less but I can still hear the snuffly sound to Dandelion’s breathing. I think Dandelion is the weakest of the little girls.

This morning I hand fed them some spinach so that I could get some photos.

Apart from Dandelion being a bit snuffly I think they are looking a lot better. I just hope the next cold spell doesn’t set them back again.

Today we have our first full turkey Christmas celebration with my side of the family and little six month old grandson’s first Christmas. Christmas day will be just the two of us and then two days later a roast lamb celebration with my husband’s side of the family and two older grandchildren so it’s full on from today.

I would like to wish all my readers a very Happy Christmas and New Year and I will pop in with updates when ever I have time.

    Hi, Carol
I do think that Freckles especially looks like a moulting hen in today’s photo upload, rather than a poorly moulting hen. I really do hope that the worst is behind them (and you). Enjoy your various family celebrations; season’s greetings to you and your other readers.
P.S. I gave my girls their Christmas present yesterday: 6 rolls of fresh turf!

    • They do actually all look so much better today. If it wasn’t for a slight sound from Dandelion’s breathing I could think that they were better. Freckles does seem much better than she has been. I am hoping that they may come through this while the weather is mild. It’s a shame that they are moulting so late in the year.

I have some yogurt and some fish for my girls Christmas treat. We can’t get turf this time of year here. I bet your girls will love that.

      Have a great Christmas.

They do look better – long may it continue! 🙂

A very merry Christmas to you and your husband Carol and to all your other readers of course.

    xx

    • Thank you and Happy Christmas to you and your’s too. They have seemed better today and I haven’t heard any sneezing. I am afraid to get too carried away but I am hoping that perhaps they are on the mend. It’s just Dandelion’s slight snuffle today but apart from that they have looked good, the best so far. xx

Let us hope the mild weather stay a while
I think they will enjoy their christmas dinner.

    • I am really hoping the weather stays mild. I think they will love a few treats because I have given them less lately to make them eat as much of the mash with tylan water as possible. It will be a lovely change for them.

Your girls eat better than me! All of your TLC is helping them have good health for 2018. Merry Christmas! By the way, where do you live?

    • Carol says:

They are looking much better today so I am now hopeful that they have finally turned the corner, fingers crossed! Merry Christmas to you too.

I live in the South East in Wooburn Green which is near High Wycombe. Where do you live?

      Happy 2018.

I guess I should have asked what country do you live in? Is it England? I live in Falkville, Alabama, USA. I am glad to know your girls are gettting better!! My girls got oatmeal, persimmons, and mealworms for their Christmas treats. I got 6 eggs from my girls. Yummy!

    • Oh sorry, I misunderstood. Yes, I live in England. I thought perhaps you were thinking we might live near each other and could meet up. I see now that that isn’t possible. Somehow I assumed you lived in England too. I live in South East England not far from London. Lovely that you are still getting eggs and I am sure your girls loved their treats.
