This August bank holiday, which is the last bank holiday of the year, has been a lovely sunny one. Usually as soon as a bank holiday comes around it rains. This time we had some rain during the week and the best of the sun on Sunday and Monday.
The sun really had an effect on the garden.
I have enjoyed spending time in the garden in the sun and the chooks have done plenty of dust bathing and sitting in the sun too.
Lovely weekend, the garden is looking good.
It was so unusual to have amazing weather on a bank holiday weekend. As you can see “your” plant is loving the sun. Richard says it doesn’t look real! I think it’s the brightest flower that I have ever seen.
I love them flowers in teh first picture, what are they?
They are called gazania. The ones in the photo are yellow flame and I also have white flame which is paler. My mum gave them too me. The flowers only open when it’s sunny. They come in a range of colours. They originate from Africa and are not hardy so will need be brought indoors in the winter. I had never seen them before until my mum sent me some photos of her garden.
