I know I kind of did this yesterday but the girls looked so crazy in the sun today that I couldn’t resist taking more photos. I love the way they lean on one side and stretch out one leg and lift one wing.

Barley was also stretched out but the time I got my camera she had stood up and started preening. Before I got the camera it had looked like a scattering of dead bodies.

They are often in what looks like a small heap. This just makes me smile every time.

They are. Like me they love sitting in the sun. Between jobs I too have been sitting in the sun and am looking quite tanned.
Beautifully captured! The first time one of my sons saw hens in this sort of position, he came gingerly to tell me that he thought a couple might have died!
I am not surprised. I often think they look like dead bodies and anyone new to chickens would be horrified.
