Yesterday when I got Butterscotch out of the nest box she ran straight out into the run for a dust bath.

Butterscotch soon hurried back to the nest box. I realised Speckles was missing.

A little later Speckles had laid her large egg and Butterscotch was sitting on it. I still wonder if she has some telepathic powers to encourage the girls to lay their eggs next to her.

How sweet was that, It is lovely to see them so happy together.
These two do seem to be quite close. Speckles could have gone in the other nest box but she chose to be in with Butterscotch and she has been dust bathing with her quite a lot lately.
I often wonder if one Of a pair goes from a flock how much they are missed .
I would dread to think how it would be if Peaches or Barley lost each other. I have never seen a more bonded pair than those two. See my last photo on the next post.
