The day before Valentines Day my husband bought me some daffodils. He said they were not my Valentine flowers (bless him) but that at only a pound he thought they would bring a bit of spring colour.
I decide to record their progress with my camera.

Valentine Roses
The last two photos were taken on the same day. I have had the daffodils for seven days and the roses for six days. They both still look really good.
The roses are romantic and I love red roses but the daffodils are amazing value and fun to watch opening up.

I brought some daffodils last week similar as.. The only problem was I came down one morning and there was an awful smell . I could not figure it out and washed all the bins etc., and it turned out to be the daffodils! It was not the usual heavy scent of narcissus but really odd. Sadly they ended up in the compost bin .
So it’s a big of a chance when brought in total bud .
How odd. These have no smell at all. Both roses and daffs are still going strong.
