Poor Emerald looks really scruffy and when I pick her up at bedtime (as gently as I can) she feels as prickly as a hedgehog.

Unlike Emerald, Toffee looks quite neat but she has no tail.

These two are the only ones in full moult but I am finding a few of Topaz’s feathers in the run and occasionally one of Sparkle’s. This may be down to just shedding the odd feather though. It still seems a little early for moulting.

Poor things. I always feel so awful for them when they molt. But at least yours do it in the warmer months. I always seem to have one who does it in the cold winter months and I just really feel for them.
Emerald and Toffee are months earlier than the rest of the girls but you are right they all get it all done and dusted before winter sets in.
Oh she looks so sad .
They definitely have a loss of confidence when moulting because Emerald is spending a lot of time on the table which is the favourite place they go to when they don’t feel a hundred percent.
You can see that Sparkle is in the background on the table because the same applies to her.
