My two moulting girls

Poor Emerald looks really scruffy and when I pick her up at bedtime (as gently as I can) she feels as prickly as a hedgehog.

Unlike Emerald, Toffee looks quite neat but she has no tail.

These two are the only ones in full moult but I am finding a few of Topaz’s feathers in the run and occasionally one of Sparkle’s. This may be down to just shedding the odd feather though. It still seems a little early for moulting.

Poor things. I always feel so awful for them when they molt. But at least yours do it in the warmer months. I always seem to have one who does it in the cold winter months and I just really feel for them.

Oh she looks so sad .

    • They definitely have a loss of confidence when moulting because Emerald is spending a lot of time on the table which is the favourite place they go to when they don’t feel a hundred percent.

You can see that Sparkle is in the background on the table because the same applies to her.
